These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and LiuZheng, the developer of Homa (“Homa,” the “App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your download, installation, access to, and use of Homa.
By using Homa, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If you use Homa on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Homa is a client-side home server and NAS management utility. It can connect to servers selected and configured by you, primarily through SSH, and may provide features such as:
Homa follows a “No Agent” design: it generally does not require a persistent Homa service to be installed on your server. Homa does not provide server hosting, backup, managed administration, or a guarantee of remote availability.
Features may vary by device, operating system, App version, region, or purchase status. Some features may be experimental, preview-only, or unavailable.
Subject to these Terms and the applicable app marketplace rules, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and use Homa on devices you own or control for lawful personal or internal business purposes.
Homa, including its original code, design, branding, and content, is owned by the developer or applicable licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Open-source components remain governed by their respective licenses.

You are responsible for every server, NAS, container, API, AI provider, account, and network endpoint you configure in Homa. You represent that you own them or have valid authorization to access and administer them.

Do not use Homa to access systems or data without authorization, distribute malware, evade access controls, disrupt services, infringe rights, or engage in unlawful activity.
Homa can execute commands and administrative actions on servers at your direction. These operations may start, stop, restart, modify, or remove workloads and may expose confidential information through terminal output, logs, environment variables, configuration files, or command history.
You use all remote-management features entirely at your own risk. You must review the target server, command, arguments, permissions, dependencies, and expected impact before execution. Any confirmation, warning, preview, validation, safeguard, or risk label provided by Homa is informational only and does not guarantee that an operation is safe, reversible, complete, or appropriate.
You are solely responsible for every command entered, generated, selected, approved, or executed through Homa and for every resulting change, interruption, disclosure, deletion, corruption, outage, or security event. You must maintain independently verified backups and recovery procedures and use appropriately restricted accounts. Homa is not a substitute for professional system administration, security review, monitoring, or disaster recovery.
AI features are optional and require a provider and credentials configured by you. Requests are sent directly from your device to the provider endpoint you select. AI-generated commands, diagnoses, and explanations may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe, or unsuitable for your environment.
You must independently verify all AI output before using or executing it. AI output is not professional, security, legal, or system-administration advice. Homa does not represent or warrant that any generated command is safe, syntactically correct, non-destructive, compatible, or fit for your intended purpose. You assume all risk and remain solely responsible for any command, disclosure, cost, server change, data loss, or other result. Do not include secrets, personal data, or confidential information in an AI request unless you are authorized to disclose it and accept the selected provider’s handling practices.
Your use of an AI provider is also governed by that provider’s terms, privacy policy, availability, pricing, quotas, and content rules. We do not control or endorse provider output and are not responsible for a third-party provider’s service or data practices.
Homa may interact with services chosen by you and may load third-party resources, such as AI APIs, self-hosted application APIs, websites, software update information, operating-system or application icons, and app marketplace services. Third-party products and content are provided by their respective operators and are subject to their own terms.
We do not control and assume no responsibility for third-party availability, security, accuracy, compatibility, legality, pricing, output, or data handling. Your use of and reliance on any third-party service is entirely at your own risk. References to third-party names or marks do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
If paid features are offered, the price, billing period, trial terms, and included benefits shown at purchase form part of these Terms.
Purchases are processed by the app marketplace through which you obtained them, such as Apple’s App Store. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless canceled through your marketplace account before the applicable renewal deadline. You can manage or cancel a subscription and request a refund through that marketplace, subject to its rules and applicable law. Deleting Homa does not automatically cancel a subscription.
We may change future prices or feature packaging as permitted by the marketplace and applicable law. Changes do not alter a completed one-time purchase or a current paid billing period unless expressly stated and legally permitted.
We may update, add, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to improve Homa, address security or compatibility issues, comply with law, or change the product. We do not guarantee that Homa will always be available, remain compatible with every server or third-party service, or support every Docker, SSH, API, or operating-system configuration.
You are responsible for installing appropriate updates. Continued use of an outdated version may increase security or compatibility risks.
You may stop using Homa at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms or if required to protect users, third parties, the App, or legal compliance.
Upon termination, you must stop using Homa. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions—will survive.
YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF HOMA IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK AND THAT YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO SATISFACTORY QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, ACCURACY, RESULTS, AND SAFETY.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Homa and all related features, information, commands, metrics, diagnoses, integrations, and content are provided “as is,” “as available,” and “with all faults,” without warranties, representations, conditions, guarantees, or promises of any kind. The developer expressly disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties and conditions, including merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, non-infringement, accuracy, security, availability, compatibility, error-free operation, and results.
The developer does not warrant that Homa will meet your requirements; detect every risk, error, compromise, or configuration problem; prevent unauthorized access or data loss; operate uninterrupted; remain available; or be compatible with any particular device, server, operating system, Docker version, SSH implementation, API, AI provider, network, or third-party service. No oral or written information, warning, result, or support response creates a warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER AND THE DEVELOPER’S AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY—INCLUDING CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, WARRANTY, STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE—FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, RELIANCE, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS, DELETION, CORRUPTION, DISCLOSURE, OR COMPROMISE OF DATA OR CREDENTIALS; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OPPORTUNITY, OR COMPUTING RESOURCES; PERSONAL INJURY; PROPERTY DAMAGE; BUSINESS INTERRUPTION; SERVER OR CONTAINER DOWNTIME; SECURITY INCIDENT; OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH LOSS WAS POSSIBLE.
This exclusion includes loss arising from or related to remote commands, terminal use, Docker operations, inaccurate metrics, AI-generated output, user error, credential compromise, malicious code, insecure configuration, network exposure, server failure, unauthorized access, third-party services, missing updates, or failure to maintain backups.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO HOMA OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR HOMA DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US$10. Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with Homa is to stop using and delete the App and, where applicable, cancel your subscription.
The limitations apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or another liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In jurisdictions that do not allow a particular exclusion or limitation, liability is limited to the minimum amount permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developer and the developer’s affiliates, licensors, contributors, and service providers from all third-party claims, demands, proceedings, liabilities, damages, judgments, settlements, penalties, losses, and reasonable legal fees and costs arising from or related to:
This section does not require indemnification for losses caused solely by the developer’s conduct where such indemnification is prohibited by mandatory law.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts with jurisdiction there will have jurisdiction over disputes, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere or provides additional protections.
Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and provide a brief description of the issue so that we can try to resolve it informally.
We may revise these Terms to reflect changes to Homa, law, or our practices. We will publish the revised Terms and update the date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent. Your continued use after the revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of Homa, subject to applicable law.
These Terms, the Homa Privacy Policy, applicable purchase terms, and mandatory app marketplace terms constitute the agreement regarding your use of Homa.
If you obtained Homa through Apple’s App Store, you and the developer acknowledge that:
Nothing in this section expands the developer’s liability beyond liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
